From I-95 and Bangor

Traveling north on I-95, take exit 182A onto I-395.   

From Bangor International Airport, start out going northeast on Godfrey Blvd. Keep right at the fork to continue on Godfrey Blvd. Enter next roundabout and take the 1st exit onto Maine Ave. Pass through 1 roundabout. Turn left onto Hammond St/US-2 E/ME-100.  Merge onto I-95 S/ME-15 S toward Newport/Augusta, take exit 182A onto I-395.  

Continue on I-395 as it becomes ME Rte 1A towards Ellsworth. Rtes 1 & 3 join from the right as you enter Ellsworth (approx. 26 miles.) Follow Rte 1 through Ellsworth, continuing straight onto Rte 3 (Rte 1 turns left.)

As you cross Thompson Island (at Visitors' Center) and enter Mount Desert Island, Rte 3 forks left and Rte 102 goes straight ahead - follow Rte 102. Pass through the villages of Town Hill and Somesville, on to Southwest Harbor. Total distance from Ellsworth to Southwest Harbor is approximately 22 miles.

Pass through Southwest Harbor, passing the head of the harbor on your left; just past the harbor, turn left onto Rte 102A. Follow 102A approximately 0.7 miles to The Lodge-ings. See attached map.

From Route 1 & 3 coming from the south

Enter the Town of Ellsworth heading north. Turn right on Rtes 1 & 3 at top of hill (Rte 1A joins from left.) Follow Rte 1 through Ellsworth, continuing straight onto Rte 3 (Rte 1 turns left.)

Follow directions as noted above across Thompson Island to Southwest Harbor, continuing on to The Lodge-ings.

From Hancock County (Bar Harbor) airport

Turn left out of the airport, heading toward Mount Desert Island. Follow directions as noted above across Thompson Island to Southwest Harbor, continuing on to The Lodge-ings. Total distance from airport to Southwest Harbor is approximately 13 miles.
